Dear readers,

In contrast to our regular single-topic issues, this month dotmagazine takes a brief change of perspective: “Interplay”, the September issue of dotmagazine, broadens the scope and offers insight into a range of different topics, from the burning issue of how national law is extending past its borders and encroaching on global cyberspace, through to the use-cases for blockchain to simplify complex processes in logistics and other fields, and on to how interconnection services are evolving into a fundamental component of business strategy.

We also get a glimpse of the continuing data center “boom-within-a-boom” in the Frankfurt market, spurred on by a combination of the cloud boom, Brexit and privacy concerns. Then, we have a preview of the forthcoming eco and Arthur D. Little Smart City Study, and insight into activities in Internet governance through the Internet Governance Forum and ICANN

So, there’s something for everyone in the articles and interviews in “Interplay” this month.

And now looking to the future – after the first seven successful months of dotmagazine, we’ll be making a few small changes for the final quarter of 2017. The constantly growing readership numbers and the positive response from eco members in delivering high-quality articles have encouraged us to increase the frequency of dotmagazine publications and the associated dotmagazine newsletter to twice-monthly. dotmagazine will focus on two central topics each month – starting in October with the interplay of “Smart” and “Cloud”.

So, as a subscriber, you can look forward to receiving generally two dotmagazine newsletters each month starting in October – with more quality Internet industry insights, video and audio interviews with top specialists, and regular advice for companies on Internet and connectivity-related topics, as well as our well-established “Doing Business in Germany” rubric.

Best wishes,

Judith Ellis
